Carpet beetles larvae can potentially lead to potential damage to your furniture carpets and all fabrics around your house. Their body length measures about 3 5 mm and it is covered in minute hair. They simply don t bite humans.

The grown beetles don t bite and their larvae don t bite either. However carpet beetle larvae do feed on fabrics. They re scavengers which means they feed mostly on dead animal products or other debris. Hence the name carpet beetle.

Carpet beetle larvae don t bite but some people do experience carpet beetle dermatitis from physical contact with the hair like bristles of a carpet beetle larvae. Adult carpet beetles do not bite or even eat up fabrics however there larvae form isn t as courteous. This is usually shows as a red rash or small red bumps. In general these are black or dark reddish brown in color.

Carpet beetles don t bite humans. Carpet beetle larvae are about 12 mm or more in length and are characterized by presence of hair tuff.
